Hi, I'm Micaela.

(she/her)

I am a Filipinx-American freelance photographer living and working in the Bay Area, California. I specialize in portraits. I like to keep my images organic and authentic; I’m interested in what is real. I love natural light, natural expressions, candid moments, and subtle details.

I often work with my partner/husband/studio manager Chris (they/them).

We have two dachshunds: Lucy, who I’ve had for 15 years, & Berry (베리) who we adopted in October 2021 after she was found in the mountains in Korea and rescued by WRW Korea & Woofie’s Rescue.

Regarding post-2020 Health and Safety

I'm monitoring the ever-changing health and safety regulations for all relevant Bay Area cities (the SARS-CoV-2 Wastewater Monitoring Data site is a super helpful resource). My partner Chris and I are both fully vaccinated, test as needed, and will be masked for the entirety of your session when indoors.

Your health and wellbeing are my highest priority, so I have closed my public booking calendar until further notice. I am taking clients on a case-by-case basis and you can still request a session here.

A Note on Inclusivity

As an Asian-American woman, business owner, and artist, I believe that everyone deserves to be represented and heard. My aim is to document the stories of the full spectrum of humanity. We are pro-diversity, pro-equality, pro-empowerment.

I offer Field Camera Portrait Sessions - 100% of proceeds go to organizations helping the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. These take place outdoors and from a safe distance. Chris and I have been trying to figure out a sustainable way to give back to the communities and causes we believe in and I’m hoping this will allow us to contribute to these organizations (and others that we add over time, based on need) for the foreseeable future.
